The wildfire that swept through Northern Alberta recently has forever changed the lives of many families – including our own.
My husband Todd Pruden grew up in Fort McMurray, so he has strong personal ties to the community and professional ties with owning and operating two local businesses.
On Tuesday, May 3, both Todd and his mother, Vicki Pruden, were evacuated from the burning city. With flames on both sides of the road, they witnessed the car next to them catch fire as thousands of people fled with little more than the clothes on their backs.
With every passing day, we are seeing how this vibrant community has been affected. Entire neighbourhoods have been reduced to ashes, and many of the remaining structures are scarred from extensive smoke and water damage.
Unfortunately, Todd’s family home in Beacon Hill is one of many homes that will need to be completely rebuilt.
Although our focus to date has been custom builds in the Capital Region, Vicky’s Homes is determined to help our family, neighbours and community rebuild with their specific needs in mind. Our knowledgeable team is well-equipped to listen to your concerns, answer questions and guide you through the process from start to finish.
We want to contribute by doing what we do best, and we think it is time to bring our award-winning designs to the great city of Fort McMurray.
Vicky’s Homes is a Mike Homes Approved custom home builder which means your home will be built with high standards – and will get inspected by Mike Holmes Inspectors throughout the course of construction. This should help provide you peace of mind knowing your home was built right, because building it right it what we do!
You will rest assured knowing that your new custom home is not only being carefully designed and crafted by reputable professionals with more than 15 years of experience, but also by people who know firsthand the significant loss you have suffered.
Working together, we can have a positive impact. We will overcome the challenge put forward by Mother Nature and build an even stronger and more beautiful Fort McMurray.
